Causes of decline of Buddhism erstwhile India Bharartvarsha

India is the spiritual citadel of world. Anything perceived untruthful vanishes with time. Since advent of Gautama Buddha, the teachings of Buddhism diluted to its extreme. So much so that people, masses primarily lost faith in Buddhism in India. Buddhism Dharma primarily contained teachings of Gautama Buddha, the one and only preceptor who reached stage of enlightenment in his lifetime.

Comparatively in Hinduism not hundreds but thousands gained enlightenment in their lifetime! In India (erstwhile Bharatvarsha) and Hinduism, there is no dearth of spiritual literature following which human beings reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) even in present times.

Following teachings of Buddhism as of today, none could reach God in present life. The concept of God does not exist in Buddhism, how could they reach God… realize self, realize God, gain enlightenment?

As of today Buddhism religion compared to Hinduism is a very shallow religion that had nothing to do with pure spirituality. I have been to Dharamsala many times only to assess their spiritual level. I always returned empty-handed. Everyone indulged in rituals that carried no meaning in spiritual world.

During times of Gautama Buddha, the teachings of Buddha reached masses and he developed a big following. But after Gautama Buddha left his mortal frame, the decline of Buddhism started.
