JRD Tata was One of the Best Practitioners of Yoga Meditation as we call it Today

This answer pertains to life of JRD Tata the erstwhile scion of Tata Empire… a karma Yogi par excellence. All this life JRD Tata worked for welfare of mankind unmindful of scriptures of Hinduism like Bhagavad Gita. All his life he never directly indulged in spirituality or the scriptures of Hinduism. Yet, he was one of the best practitioners of yoga meditation as we call it today.

Every second of life JRD Tata engaged self in contemplation. His goal of life always was welfare of mankind at large. Not for a single moment in his life JRD Tata ever thought of Tata Empire in terms of money or wealth. He indulged wholeheartedly for the uplifting of mankind. To do this he worked like a trustee, caretaker of the Tata Empire. Not for a single moment did he think he owned Tata Empire.

Working like a true trustee he spent his time in business. The best collaborations of his life occurred in the elevator of Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai, a Hotel owned by Tatas. On the top floor of the hotel exist two presidential suites. In one lived JRD Tata and the other presidential suite was reserved for head of states only. None less than the rank of Prime Minister could stay in that. While going up and down the lift, the important business deals would be finalized by the Karma Yogi himself.

Without knowing anything about Bhagavad Gita or yoga meditation, JRD Tata all the time indulged in meditation which is another word for indulgence in contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning. If JRD Tata wanted to expand his empire, he first contemplated on the matter of his own. This path of unintentional meditation made India what it is today. All the technological development of India was during of Tata Empire of which JRD Tata was an important pillar.

Same is the case with Bhagavad Gita or other scriptures of Hinduism or different religions of world. If we could develop a habit of unintentional meditation… indulging in contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning most of time… we would sooner reach the hidden underlying meaning of sacred texts of different religions of world. From six years of age I indulged in this path. 37 years of age I finally reached God.
