The third eye (referred by some as pineal gland located between the two hemispheres near the center of brain) could not be opened of its own. It needs indulgence in path of spirituality, yoga meditation… practice of absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation. Only then our kundalini shakti activates fully and reaches Sahasra Pushpa (thousand petalled Lotus) existing in our brain behind forehead. One immediately becomes an enlightened one.
Living mundane materialistic life one could never negate karma to zero. If we desire climbing Mount Everest, our interest in mountaineering was an absolute must. For activation of third eye, both our ego and karma must be negated to zero. This means absolute control over five senses and mind.
