Shastras termed scriptures in English had only one goal in life of human beings… assimilate jnana wisdom contained in them to reach end of cosmic life… God Almighty himself! All primary Shastras (scriptures) were invoked by mankind directly from God Almighty. All Vedas (Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda) were first words of God Almighty invoked by mankind. Then came Upanishads (independent treatises) followed by sermon of Bhagavad Gita.
All Shastras (scriptures) were necessitated to travel spiritual path successfully to reach God in present life. Religious scriptures helped mankind to worship God, offer our prayers to God. How to indulge in rituals was all detailed in religious scriptures.
