Hinduism believes in continuity of life. Because of this belief, scriptures of Hinduism say the journey of life truly belongs to our soul atman, and never the manifest physical human form.
Before manifesting human form for the first time, a soul atman has already manifested in insect, plant and animal life. In 1.1 million manifestations in human form a soul atman seeks liberation from cycle of birth and death. This becomes possible when traveling path of spirituality human beings gained enlightenment in their lifetime to reach stage of moksha salvation forever.
No human being on mother earth knows at what level of manifestation we existed. Therefore it was in our interest to continue forward on journey of liberation from cycle of birth and death forever. For doing so our indulgence in path of spirituality was necessitated. If we truly desire enhancing our cosmic journey, we just could not limit ourselves to religious rituals but travel path of spirituality sincerely and diligently as detailed in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads.
