When we indulged in yoga meditation as detailed in scriptures of Hinduism… primarily Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises)… our power of concentration increases with time. As the clutter in our thought process decreases, we could visualize, observe our thoughts. Indulging in nishkama karma yoga we could channelize our thought process.
Indulging in nishkama karma yoga when we detached self from fruits of karma performed, we lived like a trustee, caretaker for whom everything belongs to God Almighty. One was only an instrument in hands of God Almighty doing his bidding all the time. Minimizing our desires and wishes, establishing gradual control over ego (Aham in Hinduism), we could increase our power of concentration almost to infinity.
Indulgence in meditation yoga could be successfully practiced only if we had a single goal in life. We could not be materialistic as well as spiritual. Inversely we could not be spiritual and also materialistic. If we desire manifesting absolute power of concentration… we have to choose one path… either spiritual or materialistic! We just could not ride two boats simultaneously.
Thinking we were pure awareness does not mean anything… we have to become one by traveling path of spirituality, indulging in yoga meditation as detailed in Bhagavad Gita!
