The Most Famous Proponent of Self Enquiry Who Am I was Maharishi Ramana

The most famous proponent of self enquiry, who am I was Maharishi Ramana one who succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment in his lifetime. Maharishi Ramana also mastered the art of Neti (not this, not this) to negate everything that was not God and finally reached God in the end.

Lying in shavasna pose of yoga (the dead pose) Maharishi Ramana enquired within who was it that survived the rigours of death. He slowly realized that there was something more to life than the manifest physical human form. He realized we were a living soul atman manifesting human body. We were in fact a consciousness, a spirit that manifest human form to work out its karma, remove dross impurities within.
