Lord Krishna Existing in our Heart was the Knower of All Still Human Beings pursued Materialistic Goals of Life

Most of the spiritual precepts contained in Bhagavad Gita were symbolic, allegorical… metaphorical to explain something deep that could not be understood literally but only through path of contemplation.

Krishna depicted as sarthi (charioteer) represents soul atman existing in our body. Every moment thousands of thoughts flowed through our brain uninvoked both positive and negative. Negative thoughts provoked bad karma and positive, indulgence in good karma.

Our soul atman all the time prompts us from within to remain truthful in life. But dominated by a bloated ego, we failed to hear its voice. Lord Krishna existing in our heart was the knower of all; still human beings pursued materialistic goals of life. And that is exactly what Kauravas, Duryodhana did. Not prone to reason, Duryodhana pursued path of adharma (lawlessness). Irrespective of persuasion by Lord Krishna he was unrelenting. In the circumstances, battle of dharma (righteousness) was the only solution.

In practical life we were absolute master and controller of present life but we failed to realize this abstract truth of life. Travelers of spiritual path slowly realized this fact. They finally succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment and finally moksha salvation forever. Those mesmerized by glare of worldly riches like Duryodhana indulged in trivialities of worldly life all the time. Choice was ours, to indulge or not to indulge. Human beings are endowed with power of discrimination to distinguish right from wrong.

We were all the time free to choose our journey of life.
