Mahavira was 24th Tirthankara of Jainism (preceptor) yet earlier 23 Tirthankaras remained in background. Jainism is primarily recognized from times of Mahavira by world community. The reason was apparent. The jnana wisdom of the initial 23 Tirthankaras remained confined to their individual self. Only in times of Mahavira the essential teachings of Jainism reached masses.
Amongst all so-called incarnations of Lord Vishnu, it was only in times of Lord Krishna Dharma was re-established. Some of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu relate to mythology and in times of Ramayana… jnana wisdom was not as prevailing, as in times of Lord Krishna. It is Krishna who preached to entire mankind the wisdom of Bhagavad Gita. The essence of all Vedas is contained in Bhagavad Gita.
Following teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita… any human being world over belonging to any religion, faith or belief can reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation! One need not refer to any other scripture of Hinduism for gaining enlightenment in present life time. What more could a seeker, traveler of spiritual path desire?
