Everything in human life was mysterious, unexpected because the reality of life was intangible, hidden from human beings! As a human being we could realize the reality of life by plunging in path of spirituality head-on. It is only traveling path of spirituality we realized… we were primarily a spirit, soul atman on its cosmic life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations. As a soul atman we manifest human form to work out our karma, remove dross impurities within.
Path of spirituality could not be traveled successfully indulging in scriptures literally. All scriptures demand traveling path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) to reach the hidden underlying meaning. Becoming a mystic, ascetic was the only means to realize we were primarily a soul atman. The human form was only a medium for soul atman within to reach stage of absolute purity forever. Following teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita human beings finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime, reaching end of spiritual journey forever.
