If it is one single giant bright light then it is God Almighty in all its glory that we are pursuing. We could even call it our soul atman, consciousness existing in our heart. This is the real self of us. It is this light that manifested this body to work out its karma, remove dross impurities within. There would come, a stage when you stop pursuing this light. This stage may come in this very life or many manifestations henceforth. The moment you stop pursuing the light of your own and realize that you were really pursuing nothing but your own real self, that very day one shall gain enlightenment forever.
