In India Money Has become an End in Itself

From childhood, stories from Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads are inculcated into our being. Even as a child we know that we were primarily a soul atman still; we were faraway from teachings of Bhagavad Gita or Upanishads.

People in West particularly United States of America lived by Bhagavad Gita every single day of life. Even though they know nothing about Bhagavad Gita, they lived by the principles of Bhagavad Gita.

In West, people were more truthful than India. Their glowing faces said it all. There was no pretence. None ran after money. Money was always a means to an end for them. In India, money has become an end in itself. Even the rich, the affluent run after money like anything!

If we minutely observed, people in USA lived their life on day-to-day basis, they lived in the moment. Indians primarily hoarded wealth for many generations to come. Everything is missing in lives of Indians including happiness. But one in USA, who did not have more than a few months savings in bank, was not only much happier but also contented.

People in West lived as if today was the beginning of life and also the end. They lived life at its level best.
