Spirituality starts from the point where science ends. Modern technology, science have absolutely no contribution towards evolution of souls atmans. Spiritual progress directly relates to indulgence in karma. Negation of karma to zero means reaching the stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation!
Karma can be negated to zero only by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. Control over five senses comes by reducing our desires and wishes, annihilating our ego in totality (Aham in Hinduism). We have to subdue our ego, never suppress it!
