In Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna explicitly states that path of spirituality can be successfully traveled only through path of introspection, self enquiry… logical reasoning! Where was the need for a spiritual guru, master to guide us in the spiritual journey of life?
When young about 13 years of age I went in search of a guru. No matter how best I tried, I could not find one! In exasperation I asked God to become my guide in the journey of life and he willingly agreed. Thereafter it was never looking back.
Whenever queries piled up… I used to enter into a roundtable conference with Lord Krishna on one side and all man gods seated all around him. Lying in shavasna pose of yoga I would enter into deep stage of meditation. In the morning when I got up all my queries had melted away.
Path of self enquiry (path of Neti… not this, not this) preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana is a sure shot method of reaching God in present life. Every spiritual traveler must duplicate path traveled by Maharishi Ramana.
Scriptures of Hinduism like Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises) were explicitly detailed in all respects. Mere literal reading would never help. Introspection at all stages of spiritual life was an absolute must. Most human beings world over failed on this aspect.
I get many queries from people world over that they had read Bhagavad Gita several times but were unable to fathom depth of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. The reason was apparent and clear. They hesitated indulging in introspection fearing that all family attachments may be washed away. This was a gamble we had to take. If we are to search for God, reach God in present life… then we had to do away with Moha (extreme emotional attachment) towards family members and friends. That was how God Almighty ordained spiritual path to be. A true traveler of spiritual path always worked for welfare of entire mankind all the time. For a serious traveler of spiritual path entire world became one large family.
Remaining wherever we are, we can indulge in scriptures of Hinduism to the end.
