Absolute Faith in God a must to reach God

Can we ever have faith in present times in a so-called religious preacher, master or guru, one who had yet to reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)? Mahavira 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, preceptor rightly said, “Do not preach unless you become an enlightened one… a bodhi, a Jina… a Mahavira”.

In the last about 150 years amongst 7000 million people existing world over only two spiritual stalwarts Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana reached God in their lifetime. Both are not bodily available in present times. We could only follow their teachings to reach God in present times.

So-called religious and spiritual teachers, preachers preaching half baked theories to gullible mankind through medium of Internet, TV… those who had yet to gain enlightenment, can they ever be trusted to impart wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita and other sacred texts of Hinduism?

In present times running after rituals do not carry any meaning on path of pure spirituality, reaching God. To reach God in present life all my life I tried to duplicate path undertaken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. No matter how best I tried, I could never get a spiritual master, preceptor to guide me in the journey of life.

Unless a spiritual master, preceptor, guru was competent to clarify every single query of ours; one could never reach higher brackets of spiritual pursuit. Bhagavad Gita rightly says path of spirituality is always travelled all alone. We can understand gist of Bhagavad Gita only by indulgence in path of contemplation, self enquiry… logical reasoning.

My faith in God always remained 100%, so much so if God Almighty himself came disguised and told me to follow so-and-so spiritual master, preceptor… I would have not. One who had yet to reach stage of enlightenment; how can one be trusted to become our guide in the journey of life? The whole world on one side, I would never accept a so-called religious or spiritual guru as a guide.

In absence of a spiritual preceptor, travelling all alone, after 25 years of yoga meditation I finally reached god, realized self in the wee hours of third of August 1993 at 37 years of age. Journey of spirituality is tough, uncharted yet not impossible. If we had the zeal and enthusiasm displayed by Swami Vivekananda, we can easily reach God in present life.

It was faith in God that mattered, never a so-called religious or spiritual teacher.
