Every messenger of God, every Prophet was an enlightened one! When a human being reaches that stage all inhibitions of physical manifest life negate to zero. Could such a one indulge in profanities of manifest earthly life? An enlightened one like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed worked for welfare of mankind all the time. For them goal of life always was… serving the entire community to its level best… not physically but spiritually!
All enlightened souls, prophets spoke the language of god. Having become a pure soul atman, there was nothing else they could do. Lord Krishna an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form) took upon himself the responsibility of cleansing the society of its ills. He did not directly indulge in battle of Mahabharata but his sermon of Bhagavad Gita made Arjuna gain enlightenment. No sooner that happens, all cowardice in Arjuna vanished immediately. He prepared himself to fight the Kauravas head-on. The war of Mahabharata was a battle to re-establish dharma (righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness). Through Arjuna Lord Krishna finally accomplished the unachievable.
People manifest godly powers of their own. No one tells them to do it including God Almighty. In times of strife, extreme tribulation always advent a messiah, savior to save mankind from total doom! In Dwapar Yuga came Lord Krishna and in about a decade from now mankind would witness advent of Kalki avatar, a man almost as powerful as Lord Krishna. A one-man army, with a dedicated following of above 2000 million people worldwide Kalki avatar would finally succeed in annihilating dark forces of Kali Yuga, ushering mankind to Satyuga (the awaited golden era).
