The teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita formed summum bonum of spirituality. There was nothing nobler than wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita, following which human beings reached stage of enlightenment and finally salvation moksha.
Both Bible and Koran evolved around teachings of an enlightened one. Following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita not hundreds but thousands gained enlightenment in their lifetime. Lord Krishna was born about thousand years earlier to coming of Mahavira (24th Tirthankara of Jainism). About 77 years later followed Gautama Buddha. Another 423 years later came Jesus Christ and finally Prophet Mohammed.
Following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita any human being world over belonging to any religion faith or belief can easily reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in one’s lifetime. Following teachings contained in Bible or Koran, none could reach stage of enlightenment. Indulgence in teachings of Bhagavad Gita was necessitated for human beings to emancipate forever from cycle of birth and death. There was no second alternative.
The missing years in the life of Jesus Christ (age 14 to 29) explained it all. During these years Jesus Christ came to India (erstwhile Bharatvarsha) to indulge in spirituality as contained in Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and Vedas. Even Prophet Mohammed gained his wisdom from erstwhile University of Taxila (ruins of which now lay in present-day Pakistan). During times of Prophet Mohammed, boundary of Persia was connected to erstwhile Bharatvarsha of which University of Taxila was an integral part.
Bhagavad Gita in essence contains 700 shlokas verses following which one can easily clear path of spirituality. The sermon of Bhagavad Gita was delivered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna to prepare him for the battle between Pandavas and Kauravas… a battle to re-establish Dharma (righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness) practiced by Kauravas.
In present times it is practically not possible to follow voluminous texts like Vedas. It also was not necessitated as path of spirituality demands indulgence in path of jnana yoga than path of bhakti yoga alone. Indulging in path of nishkama karma yoga and jnana yoga as detailed in Bhagavad Gita… we could easily cut shackles of karma forever. Karma negated to zero forever, we as a soul atman reached stage of absolute purity forever.
