Our belief in reincarnation stems from the fact that something within our heart fluttered all the time. Those who traveled path of truthfulness all the time could hear the sweet small promptings of our soul atman coming from within our heart. It is this voice of soul atman that makes us believe in Lord Krishna and his teachings of Bhagavad Gita.
In Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna categorically states that human form was but a temporary phase in the life cycle of a soul atman. To cleanse itself of dross impurities within, a soul atman again and again manifests new form after death of present one. As detailed in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads… after manifesting 7.3 million manifestations in insect, plant and animal life… a soul atman for the first time manifests human form. In human form a soul atman had a maximum of 1.1 million manifestations before it reaches stage of absolute purity. Now can we say enlightenment is easily gained!
In fact, people do not reincarnate. It is our soul atman within that keeps manifesting form after another.
