Philosophical books, sacred texts were never meant for reading. We could never understand anything in a philosophical book literally. We need contemplating, introspecting… logically reasoning every step of life. If we desire reaching the hidden underlying meaning in sacred texts, our indulgence in contemplation was an absolute must.
One single book, the sermon of Bhagavad Gita by Lord Krishna suffices for human beings, entire mankind to indulge in spirituality and reach God in present life. There was nothing more pious, more sacrosanct than teachings of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita. In present times we need not indulge in Upanishads (independent treatises)… even Vedas to reach stage of enlightenment.
All my life I indulged in principles of spirituality laid in Bhagavad Gita. 31 years of indulgence in yoga meditation I finally realized self, realized god in the wee hours of third of August 1993 37 years of age.
