Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says a Guru Spiritual Master was never a Necessity of Spiritual Path

Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says a guru; spiritual master was never a necessity of spiritual path. Concepts like perfect guru also did not exist. Mahavira (24th Tirthankara of Jainism) rightly said, do not preach unless you become an enlightened one. For all practical purposes a perfect guru was one who reaches stage of enlightenment in ones lifetime. But to find such a one in present times was impossible. In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over only two spiritual stalwarts Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment.

All my life from six years of age I followed teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. Indulgence in their teachings sufficed. The need for a physical guru no more existed.
