All human beings were totally free of bondage of any religion from birth. When we are born we are guided by inherent dharma (righteousness) that was imbibed into every living being. Born in a religion, we were still free to pursue any goal of life.
I was born in Jainism religion yet from six years of age I believed more in scriptures of Hinduism than Jainism. Something within told me to go in search of God. As I did not find answers to my queries in Jainism I switched over to Lord Krishna for his guidance. No matter how many times I asked elders in the family to explain precepts of Jainism, life… convincing answers were never forthcoming!
My indulgence in teachings of Lord Krishna, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana affirmed my faith in scriptures of Hinduism. Following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita I started my spiritual pursuit of life. Does not mean I rejected all other religions. Whenever I came across persons belonging to other religions I put my queries to them and accepted all explanations that were based on truth. This expedited my search for God.
I did not accept any religion blindly. Everything was based on truth and only truth. I was open to all religions from beginning of life. Whatever best I could gather from each, I owe it all to them!
