When spirituality had not yet evolved human beings indulged in rituals… praying to hordes of gods and goddesses to appease them, escape wrath of God Almighty! Slowly human beings by hit and trial started indulgence in farming. Jainism termed these initial thinkers as Kulkaras. As the human brain evolved further… seekers, travelers of spiritual path indulged more in domain of God Almighty existing in our heart. They realized there was more to body than the visible manifest physical self.
Indulging in path of truthfulness, having absolute faith in God they finally discovered presence of consciousness within our heart… a spirit that was distinct from manifest physical body. Remaining truthful they could distinctly hear promptings of spirit, soul atman coming from within. And eventually evolved spirituality as it exists today. With passage of time learned Rishis, sages invoked the first messages from domain of God Almighty termed Vedas (Hinduism revelations).
This thinking human being evolved somewhere around 6000 years before now.
