Whenever we committed a sin, as per laws of karma we get equal and opposite retribution. God had nothing to do with punishing living forms including human beings. Everything works like a supercomputer. All our indulgences, karma indulged get an equal and opposite reaction. Everything was fed into this massive cosmic supercomputer from the beginning of time. As our karma, accordingly manifesting our destiny! God always acts as Dhrishta (onlooker) never interfering with creation of his.
Based on our interaction… religious or spiritual we get the results! Every single thought positive or negative precipitates into an act of karma. Nothing escapes from clutches of karma. If we indulged in vice, we would appropriately get punished for the same.
