Yoga derived from root word yog means effort of soul atman wanting to yoke with Parmatman (God), Brahman! Yoga is indulged through path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning to reach hidden underlying precepts of spirituality contained in scriptures of different religions of world. Path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) primarily means indulging in contemplation.
For negating karma to zero, path of jnana yoga was necessitated. In simpler words to remove darkness of karma, light of jnana yoga (wisdom) gets necessitated. Unless our karma negated to zero, we as a soul atman could not reach stage of absolute purity. Until a soul atman reaches stage of absolute purity, it keeps manifesting form after another.
Yoga must not be confused with yogic exercises (asanas). Yoga was a very broad precept that encompasses spirituality, negation of karma, absolute faith in God, walking path of absolute truthfulness, full awakening of kundalini energy. Practice of absolute celibacy for a period of 12 years in continuation.
To reach full spiritual awakening overpowering five senses and mind was necessitated. This becomes possible when we indulged in nishkama karma yoga. Not running after fruits of karma performed is what nishkama karma yoga of Hinduism all about. Our faith in God must be 100%. We must be 100% truthful. By practicing absolute celibacy for 12 years in continuation, we succeed in full awakening of kundalini shakti, the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine.
Pranayama (breathing exercise) forms one part of yoga. I always indulged in contemplation lying in shavasna pose of yoga when going to bed in night.
Practicing all above when our kundalini awakened fully, Sahasra Pushpa (thousand petalled Lotus) existing in our brain behind forehead opens fully. One immediately becomes an enlightened one… a bodhi, Jina… a Mahavira forever!
