Swami Vivekananda did not suffer from any prolonged illness. He was an enthusiast of the highest order and that too in the field of pure spirituality. He wanted to barter spirituality with money. He went to USA in 1893 with the hope that he would offer spirituality and in exchange he would be given loads of money.
His experiment was a bitter failure. People in West did not know anything about Indian spirituality. This brokenhearted Swami Vivekananda returned home empty-handed. Only a few years after he died from the shock! A noble person at heart, the thinking of Swami Vivekananda was not wrong. He only failed to realize that spirituality could never be bartered or exchanged for anything. So was ordained by God.
In his lifetime Swami Vivekananda could have easily reached stage of enlightenment under able preceptorship of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, his spiritual master. But goal of life for Swami Vivekananda always was, serving the community! He primarily wanted money to serve his community to his level best.
