All my life I could never find one single serious traveler of spiritual path. All were busy in rituals (path of religion). Most feared travelling path of spirituality for the fear of losing their family, their personal life. Spiritual life surely has its pitfalls. In yesteryears seekers went to deep dense jungles (forests), became a recluse in search of God Almighty, cosmic truths of life. While living in family indulgence in spirituality demands highest level of perfection that could ever be practiced by human beings. Living life of a Yogi as a householder as per Lord Krishna was the highest form of sadhana one could indulge.
As spiritual gurus were not to come by I indulged in teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa one who started in search of God through path of religion (rituals). Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa was a great devotee of Maa Kali. After much trial when everything came to standstill he finally switched to path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) to indulge in sacred texts of different religions of world! He started indulgence in contemplation, logical reasoning… self enquiry as indulged by Maharishi Ramana. Teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa were a great input on path of pure spirituality.
Next came Maharishi Ramana, one who from beginning of life pursued path of contemplation, logical reasoning to reach God in one’s lifetime. At a very young age he finally quit his family leaving his mother to mend for self and came to Arunachala Hills. In his serious pursuit of God he started contemplating on hidden cosmic truths of life contained in scriptures of different religions of world. In the process he mastered art of self enquiry (Neti… not this, not this) pursuing which he finally reached God in his lifetime. Path of Neti is best practiced lying in shavasna pose of yoga while going to bed in the night.
Apart from Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana I followed teachings of spirituality promoted by Mahavira (24th Tirthankara of Jainism), Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed. For me all religions were different paths to God Almighty. Whatever little I could gather from every religion I was never hesitant on this aspect of life. People of my faith sometimes ridiculed me but all my life I never cared for what people said or did. My goal of life was clear to me from 13 years of age. I channelized all inherent cosmic energies towards this only goal of life.
I most benefited from path of self enquiry practiced and promulgated by Maharishi Ramana. I almost duplicated path undertaken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. In present times we find hordes of so-called religious or spiritual teachers preaching half baked theories to gullible mankind. As per Mahavira one must indulge in preaching only after reaching stage of enlightenment, never before. I was never a victim of so-called religious or spiritual teachers. From six years of age I could easily distinguish false from truth, right from wrong. None in this world could spirituality ditch me unknowingly.
Summing up all I can say with confidence that everything we desire on path of pure spirituality was contained in sermon of Bhagavad Gita given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata. The 700 shlokas verses existing in Bhagavad Gita contained truth but only truth. Any human being world over belonging to any religion, faith or belief can travel spiritual path confidently following precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita. Reference to any other scripture of Hinduism was not necessitated. I have done so all my life and so can others.
