Lord Krishna all the time exists in our body as our soul atman, the consciousness within! Lord Krishna is always depicted as sarthi (charioteer) of the chariot (human body) belonging to Arjuna. Our soul atman is sandwiched in human body and would remain so unless it cleanses self of dross impurities within. After death of human body this soul atman manifests another body to continue its cosmic journey of life.
Existence of soul atman in a body was perennial, continues from beginning of time when the soul atman manifested a body for the first time. It becomes free, liberated when karma negates to zero. By establishing absolute control over five senses and mind human beings finally succeed in negating karma to zero. Karma is overpowered indulging in nishkama karma way of yoga.
Lord Krishna was primarily immortal… exists from beginning of time. When human beings gained enlightenment in their lifetime… they represent statehood of Vishnu, Shiva… a liberated soul atman! The serpent in the neck of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu lying on Vasuki says it all. Unless human beings Awakened their kundalini shakti fully, one could never reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation!
Spiritual precepts are best understood when followed allegorically, metaphorically!
